I’m so excited you found my little corner of the internet! I’m Jessica (or Jess, if you want), I’m a holistic nutritionist, recipe developer, herbalist and creative with a Master of Science in Nutrition from the National University of Natural Medicine. My BA is in Journalism and I hold certifications in clinical herbalism and Ashtanga Yoga instruction.
I created Rune Haus as an intersectional wellness platform for everyone. My overarching goal is to bring food as medicine to the everyday lives of individuals. My teachings highlight the healing mechanisms of food with a down-to-earth perspective on individual health, emphasizing that true transformation is only possible when you harness the power of nutrition with the psychology of habits. Not just learning what to do, but how to do it.
My recipes highlight local ingredients, whole foods, fun and unexpected flavor combinations. I incorporate lots of organic, wild everything and occasionally a bit of sustainably raised meat.
I’m not big into food rules, meaning, I’m not vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or any of that, but my governing philosophy around food is simple: eat clean, kind, and colorful. Creatively, my photography and writing orbit around similar philosophies by telling stories of our food and the people behind it through beautiful imagery and prose.
