Happy New Year, everyone! Typically, I don’t make New Year’s resolutions.  I’m of the opinion that we should always be improving and learning in life, but I I have added a little theme to my 2019: to treat myself with something lavish and beautiful every day.  To me, this can look like a snowy wonderland stroll, a few extra moments of quiet in the morning or a delicious and medicinal treat.

I’ve recently been playing with feminine and floral flavor pairings, and this Strawberry Rose Adaptogen smoothie came out of my experiments. Strawberry and rose create a delicate balance of floral, sweet and tart while also packing a heavy dose of healing benefits with collagen, adaptogens, and honey.  The roses are a lovely culinary flair but also help by lifting our mood, balancing stress and bringing a sense of calm to our bodily systems. It’s been an exquisite self-love gift to myself throughout the week, and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do.

Strawberry Rose Adaptogen Smoothie

Serves: 2

Cook time: 2 Minutes

Ingredients
  • 2 cups ashwagandha infused almond milk
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries
  • 2 teaspoons rose water
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 Tablespoon collagen powder (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon raw honey (optional)
  • Recipe Preparation
    1. Blend all ingredients until smooth and frothy.
    2. Serve at room temperature or over ice.
    3. Top with crushed rose petals, if desired.
